Masks you can paint, and a mask that cuts out your subject on its own.
- Paint a mask with a brush: size, hardness and flow, Alt to erase. The stroke itself is what gets saved, so it comes back the same on a screen or on a 24-megapixel export.
- Turn on Follow edges and the brush only paints what looks like the colour under the cursor when you pressed. Drag across a tree and the branches take the mask, not the sky between them.
- Click a subject and the mask follows its edges — a bird, a person, a beak. A threshold decides how much of what the model was unsure about to keep, and the brush corrects the rest by hand.
- A range mask selects by what the pixels are rather than where they are: a band of brightness for the shadows of a whole session, or a band of hue for a sky or for skin.
- Three controls on any mask that was painted or cut out: soften the edge, move it in or out, and let the picture pull it onto hair, branches and grass.
- Crop after masking and the mask stays on what it was covering. Straightening and quarter-turns take it along too.
- A selected mask is deleted with the Delete key, and O holds the red overlay on instead of letting it fade.
- The tint slider now turns the way it reads: green on one side, magenta on the other. Photographs edited before this render exactly as they did.
- The cut-out model is downloaded once, from this site, and then works offline. Nothing about your photographs leaves your machine.

Assisted culling now looks at faces, and a whole series can be evened out on one photo.
- Sharpness is judged on the subject's eyes when there is a face in the frame. A portrait shot wide open is no longer called soft because its background is.
- A new filter finds the frames where somebody has both eyes shut. A wink, a glance to the side and a profile are not blinks, and are left alone.
- The best frame of a burst is now the one where the eyes are open, then the one where they are sharpest.
- Even out a series: select a run of photos, correct one of them, and the rest take the exposure and white balance that make them render like it. Each gets its own correction, computed from what the camera recorded.
- The face model is downloaded once, from this site, and then works offline. It recognises nobody and nothing about your photographs leaves your machine. It can be turned off in the culling panel.

Crop and straighten in one gesture, with eight composition overlays.
- The straightening angle can be changed while you are cropping, which is when you want it. The frame follows the angle instead of waiting for you to leave the tool.
- A level tool: draw a line along a horizon, the edge of a building, anything that should be straight, and the photograph turns until it is.
- Eight composition overlays instead of one: a grid, the thirds, the golden ratio, diagonals, triangles, the golden spiral, a centre cross, or none at all. Press O while cropping to move through them, Shift+O to turn the two that have a handedness.
- Turning a photograph 90 degrees keeps your crop, which used to be thrown away, and the button works during a crop as well as outside one. Turning a locked ratio on its side keeps its size too: two presses of that button used to cost most of the frame.
- Drag on the darkened area to draw a new frame from scratch, and the arrow keys nudge the one you already have. The panel reads out the shape as a ratio beside the megapixels.
- Erasing all edits from the settings panel now clears the crop as well, instead of leaving the photograph on screen still framed.

Rawnd opens fourteen more cameras, including the Sony A7 V.
- Newly opening: the Sony A7 V, A7R VI, RX1R III and RX10 V, the Nikon ZR, the Canon EOS R50 V, EOS C50 and PowerShot V1, the Fujifilm X-T30 III, the Panasonic S1 II, the OM-5 Mark II, the Olympus E-P7 and the Leica SL3-P. The Nikon D5 now opens its 12-bit files as well as its 14-bit ones.
- One exception worth knowing about on recent Sony bodies: files written with their newest lossless compression still do not open, here or in any other open converter. Uncompressed files and the older lossless ones do.
- When a file will not open, Rawnd now names the camera and says which of the two it is — a body it does not know yet, or a way of writing the file it cannot read.

Rawnd now opens Fujifilm X-Trans files.
- RAF files from X-Trans bodies — the X-Pro, X-T, X-H, X-E and X-S lines — open like any other RAW. The GFX and X-A series, which use ordinary Bayer sensors, opened already.
- Fine detail against a bright sky keeps its colour, on every format. A branch or a wire crossing a blown sky no longer picks up a green or magenta edge.

Rawnd can now measure a whole shoot and shortlist what to cut.
- Assisted culling groups a shoot by the moment each frame was taken - the burst, but also the second attempt eight seconds later from another angle. It names the sharpest frame of each group and lists the ones that came out soft, blown or too dark. Everything is measured on your own machine: nothing is uploaded and there is no model to download.
- Every result is a filter over the filmstrip, never a verdict. Nothing is rated or rejected for you — you walk the shortlist with the arrows and decide with P and X, as you always have.
- Three grouping settings, from cautious to wide, so a wedding and a studio session are not held to the same idea of what counts as one moment. Switching between them re-groups instantly and measures nothing again.
- The pass steps aside the instant you move to another photo, so culling stays exactly as fast as it was. A folder you have already measured comes back with its results in place, at no cost.
- Save a preset from a whole selection and it is the average of what you did to each frame, rather than a copy of whichever one happened to be open.
- Assisted culling and presets from a selection are Pro. Opening, culling, comparing, developing and exporting one photo at a time are free and unlimited, as before.

The tone controls now act only where their names say.
- Blacks, Shadows, Highlights and Whites each act on their own part of the tonal range. Lifting the blacks no longer flattens the whole picture.
- Blown highlights can be brought back again, and no combination of the tone sliders can invert the contrast any more.
- Exposure is much finer through the middle of its travel, where most corrections happen, and its range is now ±4 EV.
- Double-click any slider to reset it.

- Open, cull and develop RAW files from fifteen camera makers, in the browser. Nothing is uploaded — the decoder runs inside the page.
- Install it and it works offline, opens .NEF and the rest from your desktop, and exports JPEG, WebP, PNG and XMP sidecars.
